Literature Review Book 1.5

    I have decided that this entry for my literature view will be a good starting point however the book in question I don't feel meets what is needed for it to be considered a full source of reference for my essay. The book I will be looking at is Autodesk Maya: An introduction to 3D Modelling by 3D Extrude Tutorials as can be seen in the image below



    Now to explain where I am coming from with this book and why I don't feel by itself it is enough to be a full reference. I am looking to explore 3D modelling workflow and methods to identify the best process of generating 3D assets for certain scenarios and situations, in order to do that I need to identify the fundamentals of a variety of modelling techniques and workflows and be able to digest them to understand the advantages and disadvantages of said method which will help expand my knowledge as well as inform my decision making in the future.

    I would like to collect a couple more books such as this that focus on modelling workflow then I can compare and contrast the variety of ways to go about creating an asset from scratch. 

    While I feel more proficient than the average person when it comes to creating 3D models in a sub d workflow I know that there are fundamentals of Maya and the production pipeline that I do not know about or are unsure about, so in order to get the best understanding I need to start with the basics and dive deeper from there which should result in better overall knowledge of the chosen methodologies as well as the information and critical analysis to put them against one another and see how they hold up with each other.

    As referenced in my previous posts I will be looking into Photogrammetry, I do want to also research kit bashing methods of using already pre generated assets to create something new, as well as sculpting from scratch as I have only briefly touched upon sculpting, which I know is very prevalent in detailed model creation (especially character modelling). I will also try to identify any other more niché methods of 3D asset generation, should any exist that I am not familiar with.
