Tavern Scene - Texturing the Bar

  Above are screenshots of a texturing rework I did on the second scene which features the bar. After a feedback session I decided to switch the texturing style over and go from a "stylised look" to a more gritty realistic look. I think this is more akin to my own style of texturing and is what I am used to doing.  The realism look also helps provide more visual information in the textures themselves as using grunge, dirt and wear you can age objects appropriately and provide the viewer with a sense of the objects having been used repeatedly over a long period of time, which would fit the bar itself. Below are some other screenshots of the new texturing process for this scene. I also fixed some issues that were brought up in feedback such as the tankard hooks not having baseplates that attach to the wooden support beam, the keg shelf was originally just a floating piece of wood so I attached some supporting legs to it and finally added more grunge and wear to the horn plaque ...

 Tavern Scene - Idea Update So following on from the last post where I updated with how I had gotten on with the animation side of things I decided that for now my best focus of my time while getting my Essay finished as well would be to work on another scene.  I also developed the story/my idea a little further based on one of the responses I got back for the essay and this was from Tim Coddens who is an environmental artist at Larian Studios who helped work on Baldur's Gate 3. As well as this I also received a response from Wouter Gillioen which was brilliant and informative too.  Both of them when it came to adding a visual story into a scene spoke about focusing on making the scene feel interacted with and "lived in". Tim also spoke on how he considers not just what is happening upon the time of the players arrival or own interaction but everything that has led up to that point.
